Private Beta Waiting List Update

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Due to an overwhelming response to the launch of our beta program, we’ve been (happily) swamped with applications and have been trying to keep up with everyone’s inquiries.

If you haven’t received a direct response from us yet, its not because of a lack of interest on our part to have your involvement in the program.  In fact, we would love to have everyone on board, but we are unable to process everyone’s requests immediately due to the limited number of slots and resources available for this initial testing program.

Please be patient, and we’ll attempt to get back to you as quickly as possible.  We’ve been working very hard to get as many of you involved as possible (heck, I can’t remember the last time I pulled this many 18-20 hour days in one week), and we promise it’ll be worth the wait. =)

Thanks for understanding, we’re eager to hear your feedback and we hope to be in touch with all those who applied for the private beta program soon!

Many thanks from the Kontagent Team.

F8 and TechCrunch Launch Events

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

It was great meeting so many awesome developers over the past several days.

First as a partner/sponsor at F8, then as a demo/sponsor at the recent TechCrunch Party, and then the folks at the Facebook Changeathon.

We’ve been hard at work at getting more folks into the private beta, and please be patient with us as we ramp up to support more of you.

Introducing the Kontagent Viral Analytics Platform

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Welcome to the Kontagent Blog.

Welcome to the Kontagent Blog.  Check back here to keep up to date and find out what’s up with the Kontagent platform and team.  In the mean time here are some frequently asked questions — and their answers… of course:

Who Are We?

Kontagent is the leading viral analytics platform for social network application developers. The Kontagent platform has been built from the ground up to provide deep social data visualization and analysis that delivers actionable insights delivered via a hosted, on demand service. The Kontagent platform works directly with the Facebook API, and will soon support OpenSocial and the MySpace platform. Kontagent was founded in 2007 by serial entrepreneurs Albert Lai/CEO (5th startup, most recently founder/ceo of BubbleShare) and Jeffrey Tseng/CTO (2nd startup, most recently founder Aevena) . The company is headquartered in the SOMA district of San Francisco, California with a presence in downtown Toronto, Ontario.

What Platforms Do You Support?

Currently Kontagent supports Facebook. Support for MySpace and OpenSocial is coming soon.

What About Privacy and Personal, Identifiable Data?

Kontagent respects application users’ privacy and does not collect personal data, such as names or e-mails, from Facebook.

How does Kontagent Work?

Kontagent provides a wrapper for the Facebook client library. This wrapper extracts relevant information from Facebook interactions and transmits it to Kontagent’s analytics system using a REST-based interface.

How Much Does it Cost?

Kontagent is free for independent application developers. Premium services may be added in the future, but all existing features will remain free to existing users.
